DNR Member Gets Long-Awaited Reallocation

On December 13, 2006, the Department of Personnel (DOP) conducted a Director’s
Review concerning the allocation of Natural Resources member, Rick Hall’s position as an Equipment Shop Assistant. He had waited for this day for over a year.

Hall’s position far exceeded the original purpose of assisting an equipment mechanic and eventually approached job duties done by a journey-level employee. He has acted as a lead and even trained mechanics in higher-level positions. He was doing the analysis related to inspection, diagnosis, drawing, documenting, and designing work.

After extensive consideration and careful review by DOP, it was concluded that Hall’s position should be reallocated to the Equipment Technician 3 classification. This new position upgrade will make it possible for him to rightfully get paid for the work he has been doing for a very long time.
