Meal Periods Grievance Resolved
The employer agreed to paid
meal periods on a case by case basis for work
efficiency. The agreement guideline is as follows:
-
The
Liquor Enforcement Officers will continue to schedule a
lunch break in the TENTATIVE schedules submitted to
their supervisors for approval each week. It will be up
to the officer's discretion each day as to whether or
not to take the lunch break or keep working.
-
Officers
will make a notation in their notebooks (NO LUNCH BREAK)
when a scheduled lunch break is not utilized. No
justification is necessary, only the notation in case
time accounting questions arise.
-
There will be no
necessity to contact the their supervisor if this change
in scheduling does not involve more than an hour's time.
-
No overtime will be accrued as the direct result of this
change.
