Grassroots lobbying is an important part of WPEA membership. The success of WPEA’s legislative program depends, in part, on a network of committed members who contact their own legislators to reinforce the efforts of WPEA's professional lobbyists.

WPEA’s professional lobbying staff maintains a constant presence in the legislature. We meet with legislators, monitor committees, and stay a part of the action on a daily basis. But, WPEA lobbyists are MOST effective when WPEA members back them up at home by contacting their legislators directly.

Legislators listen to their constituents. Their primary responsibility as elected officials is to meet the needs of the citizens they represent. After all, YOU helped put them in office.
