This
medical
expense
plan
allow
eligible
employees
to
deposit
their
accrued
sick
leave cash-out
received
at
retirement
into a
tax-free
voluntary
employee
beneficiary
association
trust
account.
The
money in
the
account
is
either
paid to
a
medical
vendor
or
reimbursed
to the
employee
to cover
qualified
medical
expenses
and
premiums.
Both
deposits
to and
payments
from the VEBA
Trust
account
are
tax-free
transactions.
