The WPEA/UFCW Local 365 Offices will be CLOSED on Tuesday, November 11, 2008, in recognition of Veteran’s Day (formerly Armistice Day).

Ballots for the Election of Local Union President and for VP from District 9 (So King County & most of Pierce County), have been mailed to all members-in-good standing.  The balloting instructions refer to a goldenrod return envelope but the return envelope is actually white.  If you have any questions or need more information, please contact Amanda Hacker, the appointed Election General Chairperson, at 1-800-544-9732 x101.

Please be advised, throughout the week your staff representatives may also be involved with personnel issues such as individual grievances, appeals, and hearings that cannot be addressed in this format. In addition, schedules are always subject to change without notice as the week progresses, so keep your staff representatives’ cell phone numbers handy.   Please call your Job Representative if you need assistance or for emergent issues, contact Administrative Staff at extension 107.

Cari Trussell is currently scheduled to be member-servicing from the Olympia HQ office on Monday.  She will be at Bellevue Community College on Tuesday for Professional Development Day; at Highline Community College on Wednesday; at Cascadia Community College on Thursday for a labor-management meeting; and at Olympic College on Friday.

Dave Schiel is currently scheduled to be member-servicing from the Ellensburg office on Monday and Wednesday.  He will be in Omak on Thursday for a meeting with a Wenatchee Valley College member and then he will attend a dinner meeting (pizza & pop provided) with Department of Natural Resources members in Okanogan county.  On Friday, Dave will be in Walla Walla.

Eddie Rosen is currently scheduled to be member servicing from the Vancouver office on Monday morning and then he will attend a meeting at Fort Vancouver Regional Library.  On Wednesday, he will be member-servicing at Clark College and Fort Vancouver Regional Library as well as making Liquor Store visits.  On Thursday and Friday, Eddie will be meeting with Fort Vancouver Regional Library.

James Grimsey is currently scheduled to be visiting Liquor Stores in his area all week.  He will also be member-servicing from the Olympia HQ office on Wednesday and Thursday and attending a union-management communications committee meeting at Pierce College Steilacoom campus on Friday.

Linda Fryant is currently scheduled to be at the Liquor Control Board Distribution Center on Monday for the Advisory Team meeting and she will be member-servicing from the Northwest office in Everett on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Tess Millar is currently scheduled to be out of the office on Jury Duty all week.

Other Staff Activities...

WPEA President Greg Parker is currently scheduled to be in and out of the Olympia HQ office on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, attending to governance/constitutional issues and meeting with various staff or members on emergent issues. WPEA Organizer Kathleen Oest is currently scheduled to be in Bremerton, Kingston, and Port Orchard on Monday.  She will be in the Olympia HQ office on Wednesday and Friday, and Kathleen will be on Bainbridge Island on Thursday.

WPEA Government Relations Director Luis Moscoso is currently scheduled to be in the Northwest office in Everett on Monday, Tuesday and Friday and in the Olympia HQ office on Wednesday and Thursday morning.  He will be in Seattle on Thursday afternoon for a meeting with
