The 2024 bargaining season for Higher Education, General Government, Yakima Valley Community College, and Highline Community College has come to an end. Highline Community College and Yakima Valley Community College have both decided to roll over their contracts but both are impacted by the Higher Education contract compensation.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: On September 25th, 26th, and 27th WPEA will be hosting over 30 locations statewide for all 4 contracts being ratified.
Here’s what you need to know:
What to expect: When you arrive at a voting location, staff/stewards will check your ID, verify you are an active member, provide you with one ballot and one ballot envelope. You will fill out the envelope with your information and then complete the ballot with your vote, then you will seal the envelope, and drop it in the ballot box.
Staff/stewards are happy to answer questions. Each location will have the summary of the contract changes, current contracts, the letters from the bargaining teams.
If you are concerned that you will be unable to vote because you are assigned to work out of state (permanently or temporarily), have an accessibility concern, or other circumstances beyond your control:

Here’s what you need to know:
- You can only vote once and you can only vote on your contract
- Every contract can be voted on at any location.
- Travel: Please plan to travel to a voting location on the dates and times listed below.
- Be off the clock: Voting needs to happen on your own time, before work, after work, on scheduled leave time, including breaks if travel allows.
- Bring your photo ID
- Members Only: Make sure you are an active member –
- non-members can sign a membership card at a voting location and cast a CHALLENGED BALLOT. Challenged ballots are set aside and counted if counting them could change the outcome of the ratification vote.
- Secret Ballots: The ratification vote will be held by secret ballot.
