If you are interested in getting involved in your central labor council, please do so. CLCs have a direct impact on your local community. They engage in building worker power, citizen power, and consumer power. They also decide who to support in local government elections as well as for school boards and water or fire districts. Attending CLC meetings gives you the best grassroots knowledge of what’s happening right where you live and how you could be affected by them!
There are 15 CLCs across this great state, representing each Legislative District. Please check the WPEA website for the location of the meetings in your neck of the woods, and see the days and times they meet. If you don’t know your Legislative District, enter this link into your browser and follow the instructions to determine what your district is: https://app.leg.wa.gov/DistrictFinder/.
