Personal Leave Days - Higher Education

6/22/2020

Attention WPEA Member! Did you work on campus from the beginning of the COVID closure? You may be able to carry over any unused personal leave days (that would otherwise expire June 30)!

You might also be able to carry over if you’ve been working from home but had a personal leave day request denied during the closure.

But you need to let your HR office know you want the rollover. And you need to tell them this week, by this Thursday, June 25! If you think you qualify, call your HR office today. Even if you’re not sure, call and confirm it with them.

Message From President Kent Stanford

6/10/2020

Message from President Stanford on the death of George Floyd

The International President released this statement:

“Millions of Americans across the country are rightfully angry about the murder of George Floyd and the abhorrent injustices we have witnessed for far too long. Now more than ever, we must stand together to end the hate and discrimination that is poisoning this nation, and to make clear that we all stand in support of peaceful protests and in opposition to violence of any kind.”

We here at WPEA echo the words of UFCW International President Marc Perrone. Our Nation and our State cannot meet their full obligations to provide justice and equality for all unless we stand against the hateful acts of discrimination and unequal justice. We must all be in opposition to the kinds of treatments we have seen in the past few months against American citizens so that our communities and our country can begin to heal!
