We’re Showing Up: Fund Our Contracts Now
The Governor is celebrating public employees, while the legislature refuses to fund our ratified contracts.
In just six days, over 700 people, including nearly 10% of WPEA members, signed this letter to the Governor, demanding full funding for our contracts. On May 7th, sixty members from across the state gathered in Olympia to deliver it in person, handing out 500 flyers and filling the Capitol steps with blue. Though the Governor’s office was closed, we returned the next day and made sure that it got in front of him. This letter, over 30 pages of names, stories, and solidarity, shows what’s possible when we move together.
And we’re just getting started.
