Our Higher Education Bargaining Team has engaged in bargaining with the Employer since April, but we are still far from being able to report any substantial progress. The representatives for the State have failed repeatedly to engage in active bargaining and to meet their legal obligation. The WPEA filed an Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) with the Public Employment Relations Commission (PERC) on July 29 in the hopes of triggering significant response and motivating the Employer to come to the table and bargain in good faith.

Additionally, we have sent a letter to the Joint Committee on Employment Relations (JCER), advising them of the conditions of this bargain and asking them to exert their influence to assist in the process.
We need the Employer engage and bargain and to do that, we ALL must pitch in to help our Union siblings that are represented by this contract.
